Quantum Networks

Quantum Networks

The main scientific goal of this project is to understand what quantum networks can offer for quantum information processing.

This ranges from  asymptotically large networks, usually more interesting from a fundamental point of view, to small networks that are or will be soon implemented in the lab. Expected outcomes are:

(i) understand how quantum information resources, with an emphasis on entanglement and quantum non-locality, can be distributed over networks
(ii) explore the new possibilities highly connected networks offer for quantum information theory with respect to more standard point-to-point geometries

(iii) study intrinsically quantum information effects, such as activation of quantum resources, take place in quantum networks

(iv) extend the study of complex networks to the quantum regime
