Shahaf Asban, who holds a 2017 PhD from the Technion Israel Institute of Technology, is coming to ICFO as a postdoctoral researcher at the Nanophotonics Theory research group led by ICREA professor at ICFO Javier Garcia de Abajo. At ICFO, he will be working on Theory for nanophotonics with electronic systems and analog computing.

Daniel Goncalves, who holds a 2019 MSc in Photonics from the UPC, is coming to ICFO as a PhD student at the Theoretical Quantum-Nano Photonics research group led by ICREA professor at ICFO Darrick Chang. At ICFO, he will be working on predicting and understanding novel quantum optical phenomena in ordered arrays of atoms and in two-dimensional materials (TMD’s) that support tightly confined excitons.

Joana Fraxanet, who holds a 2019 MSc in Theoretical Physics from Leiden University, is coming to ICFO as a PhD student at the Quantum Optics Theory research group led by ICREA professor at ICFO Maciej Lewenstein. At ICFO, she will be working on applications of machine learning to physical problems.

Lorenzo Orsini holds a 2019 MSc in Physics of Matter from the University of Pisa, and is now joining the Quantum Nano-Optoelectronics research group led by ICREA prof. at ICFO Frank Koppens as a PhD student. His main tasks will involve polariton superlattices and topological polaritons.

Stephy Vincent holds a 2017 MSc in Physics from Sacred Heart Autonomous College, Thevara, India, and is now joining the Functional Optoelectronic Nanomaterials research group led by ICREA prof. at ICFO Gerasimos Konstantatos as a PhD student. Her main tasks will involve the development of optoelectronic devices based on CQDs and/or 2D materials.

Joana Alves, who obtained a 2015 MSc in Physics Engineering at the New University of Lisbon, Portugal, is coming to ICFO to join the Attoscience and Ultrafast Optics research group led by ICREA Prof. at ICFO Jens Biegert as a visiting PhD student. Her position will allow her to work on mid-IR generation and diagnostics.
