The Human Frontier Science Program awards grant to Prof. María García-Parajo The Human Frontier Science Program, a program of funding for frontier research in the life sciences implemented by the International Human Frontier Science Program Organization (HFSPO), awards Research grants for a broad range of projects under the umbrella theme of “Complex mechanisms of living organisms”. This year, a total of 800 pre-proposals were submitted and only 68 were accepted as full proposals and subjected to external peer review. Of the 25 grants awarded, the highest-ranking application was that of ICREA Professor at ICFO, Maria Garcia-Parajo.

True to the mission of HFSP, the research grants promote intercontinental collaboration and training in cutting-edge, interdisciplinary research focused on the life sciences. The awarded projects are to actively involve all members of the team and are specifically meant to allow the team to bring their different expertise to bear on a common goal. The awarded groups are specifically encouraged to publish international collaborative research results.
