Romain Quidant explains new possibilities for screening cancer from a single drop of blood. ICREA Professor at ICFO Romain Quidant traveled to Bergen (NORWAY) by invitation of the Bergen TEDx organizing committee in order to explain the recent results achieved in the Plasmon nano-optics group that he leads at ICFO , including the development of a nanochip capable of detecting cancer in a cheap, fast and versatile way. His talk, presented to an audience of approximately 500 non-specialists, explained how their research could improve quality of life in the not so distant future.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
