Description of Activities:

Within this project we study the atomic analogue of spintronics. We consider mesoscopic or macroscopic systems of atoms or ions with spin or pseudo-spin degrees of freedom, contributing to the mesoscopic, or macroscopic total spin. Such systems are considered as possible media for quantum information storage, processing and transferring. We investigate the, state preparation, manipulation via under external fields and particularly the time evolution of spinor systems of ultracold atoms, taking into consideration their intrinsic symmetries and spin-dependent interactions.
